Sister to Sister: Sister to Sister is a Female Mentoring Group that specifically focuses on teenagers and the many different facets of their life. Sister to Sister is primarily topically driven, weighing heavily upon the young women of this mentoring group to participate and share openly and honestly. Not only are the young women engaged on Wednesday evenings, but consistently, in an attempt to expand their minds and horizons, an attempt is made to engage in some form of an activity. Whether it is partaking of Community Service, supporting each other in their school extracurricular activities, or just hanging out at the Bowling Alley or movies, Sister to Sister seeks to empower the young women in many ways. Sister to Sister has the awesome and integral support of Ms. LaTia Pope, a very capable 4th/5th grade school teacher at Elvy Moore Elementary School in Roselle, NJ. This year, all of the young women are on a journey of self discovery. There are 6 Guiding Principles that Guide their sessions:
- Character Education and Etiquette
- Community Awareness
- Education and Careers
- Health and Wellness
- Life Skills
- Self Awareness
Sister to Sister meet every Wednesday evening from 4:30-6:00 pm. There are approximately 10 Females ranging from ages 15-18 from Abraham Clark High School. Please come out, enjoy, and expect to have a seed planted in your heart that will never be erased.
